Cyclical Nature Of Learning & Teaching

Insight: Learning as a cyclical process, which is augmented by introducing a teaching element a.k.a. Feynman Technique.

An analogy is that of the The Hero's Journey, where the hero begins in the known (what they think they know), but it's not until they venture into the unknown that they realize what they didn't know in the first place.

This identification of gaps is a key element of the feynman technique.

Supporting Atoms:
1.

A 4-step learning technique for identifying Knowledge Gaps developed by Richard Feynman.

The goal is to learn by teaching.

Step 1: Select subject and identify learning goals
Step 2: Pretend to explain subject to a child (e.g., 12 year old me)
Step 3: Identify Knowledge Gaps and areas that were difficult to explain.
Step 4: Recalibrate explanation in Step 2 based on Step 3.

Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman!

The cyclical nature of Storytelling, whereby the Hero leaves the Known to venture into the Unknown, experiencing a sense of Ego Death before returning back to the Known as the changed.
